Why do you like your job? I love my current job because I get to dig into issues currently facing the rail industry from a data perspective. I then get to come up with creative and efficient ways to implement solutions.

How did SSOR help you get there? SSOR helped me not only from a knowledge perspective (I use some level of statistics and operations research, particularly network analysis, every day) but also from a process perspective. I feel comfortable approaching unfamiliar scenarios because I have a process in place to research a problem strategically, parse out the pain points, and conduct an efficient analysis.

Why do you like your job? Being a part of a company at the forefront of space exploration is a truly incomparable experience where I can make my impact on the world by helping send humans to Mars and make quality Internet accessible, connecting people within our world to each other and connecting our world to others.

How did SSOR help you get there? Not only did the SSOR team at VCU provide me key technical skills and a versatile toolkit that I incorporate into my day-to-day, but the program also prioritizes creating the necessary foundation of soft skills to ensure that I could effectively communicate my ideas, adapt quickly, and prosper within industry.

How did SSOR help you get there? I am grateful for the SSOR program at VCU for showing me my love for logic, math, and computing.

Why do you like your job? I started working as a Decision Sciences Analyst at VW Credit, Inc. just a few weeks after graduating and I’ve loved my experience so far! The bulk of my work involves developing and testing regression and machine learning models to make predictions based on existing data.

How did SSOR help you get there? What I learned in courses like Regression and Time Series have been super instrumental to my modeling work. Most of my company’s processes are built in SAS, so I’m very grateful to have learned that as part of my degree as well.

Why do you like your job? One thing that I love about my job is that I get to communicate and work with different attorneys across the U.S. on how to manage high dollar civil fraud cases.  Every case has a different story to tell.

How did SSOR help you get there? My time at VCU was very impactful.  The SSOR classes helped me build confidence in communicating with others on data driven decisions.
